Lacoste's numeric sizing (2 through 8) is drafted on a European block that runs slim through the chest and short through the body — a Lacoste 5 is a US medium in the chest but shorter in overall length than most US mediums. The Classic Fit polo is the more forgiving cut; the Slim Fit is genuinely tight and only works on lean builds, and the Regular Fit sits in between the two. The famous piqué fabric relaxes about half a size after the first wash and adds a bit of length as well. Lacoste footwear uses a standard European sizing but the Novas and Carnabys fit slightly long at the same EU number.
